Keeping the Team Motivated – with Creativity!

When I think of beauty, I think of “Happiness” and “Confidence”. To me beauty isn’t physical, it’s a feeling – the ability to express that happiness and confidence with your own personal touch of creativity and freedom.

Working at Sephora, the creative spirit in beauty is translated into our careers too. I’ve been able to flex my creative muscles in my approach on keeping the team motivated and invested in the goals we have here in the Ship-from-Store team.

Over here, we have a “there are no wrong ideas” mindset. What I mean by that is that the leaders here at Sephora New Zealand and Australia make it super easy for us to contribute our ideas, by creating a workspace with the freedom to express our views. I just feed off that and incorporate that in the way I carry myself and how I value everyone’s input.

A testament to how great the Sephora work environment is, is that there’s this infectious “Sephora Culture”. You get the feeling that everyone’s focused, motivated, and wants to be here. Quite honestly, I’ve never worked in a place where everyone’s so happy to be at work! At first, even the feeling of being so excited to come into work actually made me feel quite silly – can you imagine that? It’s because I think such a positive work environment can be rare to come across nowadays. I look forward to every day at Sephora, and I’m just so proud to be part of the team. Big kudos again to the leaders who instill this culture of openness, belonging, and inclusivity. It’s an awesome vibe to be around.

A Motivated Team Means a Limitless Career

Besides the great work environment at Sephora, what motivates me to be the best I can be is my family and the desire to be a role model to my kids. When you work with people whom you look up to, motivate you, and inspire you to be better, it makes work much more meaningful. Being able to nurture and incorporate creativity into our work experience at Sephora leaves me with no doubt that I’ll be able to bring my career as far as I want to!
